KATRINA KAIF'S BIO DATA ,PERSONAL LEFE AND BOY FRIEND....

Date of Birth
16 July 1984Hong Kong

Nickname
Kat

Height
5' 8½" (1.74 m)

Mini Biography
Katrina Kaif is one of eight siblings, all girls, from a mother who is a Caucasian of British Nationality, and a father who was formerly from Kashmir, India, but who has since acquired British citizenship. Her mother is now re-settled in Chennai (formerly known as Madras), the Capital of the state of Tamil Nadu in India.

She spent subsequent years in Hawaii, and then in London, Britain, She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelry campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London.

Continuing to model was the reason she got her break in a Bollywood movie 'Boom' offered by none other than film-maker Kaizad Gustad.

She was flooded with modeling assignments the minute she set her foot on Indian soil, especially with her innocent expressive face, hour-glass figure, and drop-dead gorgeous looks.

Professionally she started off as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and upon being accepted, she received offers from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, & Veet. It was the Lakme commercial that got her noticed. She retained Matrix as her Manager to accept work on her behalf and at the price she deserved.

Moving to different culture and country was not much of a culture shock for her, as she states that no matter where you come from, the bottom line is that everyone wants to be loved, respected, and cared for.

Despite of her positive attitude, she had been stereotyped as "Indian" by extreme right-wingers in Britain who made it clear that she did not quite fit-in with their "Blonde" Caucasian culture; while on the other hand in India itself she had been ranked as an 'outsider' very much like Sonia Gandhi.

Unlike other artistes from foreign lands, Katrina did not experience any difficulties in getting a visa nor of getting it extended in India.

Although linguistically challenged, Katrina puts on a bold face and states that other Bollywood artistes like Sridevi, who did not know Hindi, did get offers from Bollywood film-makers, and she is no different. She has taken Hindi and dancing lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture. She likes to display a picture of her learning Kathak dancing where she used to dance 7 hours a day non-stop.

Adorned with soft gorgeous looks, she is not easily intimidated, but admits that she is very emotional, sensitive, and concerned about her privacy, Almost an incurable romantic, she prefers to wear comfortable non-revealing clothes when at home, hates to do her hair, and above all dislikes make-up. Admitting to being lonely in the beginning, but now has several friends who she can hang out with.

Although her first movie 'Boom' was panned by the critics and shunned by the audiences, two other Telugu movies 'Malliswari' and 'Pidugu' did get her noticed. She grossed 70 Lakh Rupees for 'Malliswari' - making her top the list of the highest paid actresses during a South Indian moviedebut.

Not done with South Indian movies, she has been signed in a Tamil movie 'Bheema' opposite National Award Winner Vikram.

She has received decent reviews for her part in "Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya", as well as a brief appearance in 'Sarkar'.

Katrina had made Mumbai her base, didn't mind singing and dancing around trees and as a result is now one of the biggest mega-stars, perhaps one of the highest paid female-lead actresses in Bollywood, and a crowd-puller whenever she makes an appearance for a live song and dance number.

Personal Quotes
It's not my style to either wear minimum clothes, to strip or to even be comfortable with a sex-symbol label. I just want to do good work instead of sporting such meaningless tags. Sex sells, but to a small extent, not always. And this is what filmmakers have to accept. The exposure has to be relevant to the film and its characters and not forced for the sake of titillation. On the contrary, some of the greatest Indian films have been devoid of all these sexual trappings. I know my comfort zone in today's Indian culture and society.
Her thoughts on Bollywood accepting her, being an outsider British girl, into Indian cinema: "I have no complaints. I think I'm especially lucky. As you said, I've come from outside and I'm not even anywhere closely connected. But I have absolutely no problem here. People have been more than welcoming, even before I was ready. There was a time when I felt that I need to take time to understand more about the industry, the workings of it. I was doing my modeling, which I really wanted to do at the time. So that's why even my entry into films was later than people expected." (Stardust magazine, July 2006)
"I've been very blessed, I think, or what do you call it... mmm... lucky to get at this stage what I have. It's not like I've come from acting school and done work at an academy or something. I feel I've been given a very huge chance and opportunity." (Stardust magazine, July 2006)
My Hindi was bad about three years ago. I wanted to achieve a certain status in modeling. Through that I got confidence to get into movies.Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005) came at the right time. I had done kathak training which apart from teaching you about dancing also teaches you about emotions. After that experience, I feel this year will be a much better year for me.
I think I have been very lucky so far. I have done a lot of ads and also some films down south. People have liked me. I guess I have found a balance.
Wait and watch. Jee Karda should be on air later this month. We shot at 4am every day to capture the light and it was scorching. To keep cool we would stay in shades and sip fruit juice or mint tea.
Egypt is among the most beautiful countries I have visited - the pyramids, the temples and the landscape are absolutely exotic. I even enjoyed the barbecue dinner on a boat on the Nile. We shot in a number of places and I've come back with fond memories of my trip.
I unwind myself by taking off the costume and make-up as soon as the shoot is over! And get a spa treatment. It is extremely relaxing. Unfortunately, the kind of lifestyle and schedule we have, we hardly get time. Not only actors, but I have seen a lot of directors and journalists with skin problems and believe me, all that can be cured by a spa treatment.
Salman Khan did not help me get movie offers. What rubbish! Will any producer take a risk of millions of rupees at the instance of any person? Everyone knows that the film industry is highly competitive, and one gets a job on one's talent only and not on any recommendation.
My relationship with Salman Khan is too personal to talk about. I take my work like any other regular job and what I do in my personal life is no one's business. I'd rather let my work do all the talking.
Every one has her own love life. Every one has a dream to get a perfect life partner. But this is not so easy in real life. In fact, one doesn't love, it happens. As far as I am concerned, I love a boy who is linked with the film industry. However, I shall not name him. You never know what may happen in future.

Ever have difficulty slicing that just a soft ripe tomato?  Slices come out too thin or too thick?  This is a great tip for achieving the perfect slice.

HOW TO FLIP CAKES EASILY

When ever you have to turn a hot cake out of a pan, we all have experienced the pan sliding around on the plate or cooling rack because you can't get a grip with pot holders.

Cook's Illustrated came up with a great idea involving a dish cloth.

1.  Place the cake pan on top of a large kitchen towel and top with an inverted plate.
2.  Gather each corner of the towel and hold the ends together on the bottom of the plate.  Gripping the towel tightly in one hand, lift the cake and the plate together.
3.  Place your other hand on te bottom and gently invert the cake pan and plate onto the countertop.  Lift off the pan to release the cake.

WHAT TO DO WHEN GET BORED?

Edit

How to Overcome Boredom

Overcome Boredom
Are you bored with your work, your relationship, or your life in general? Boredom is a complex process. There are lots of reasons that one might be bored. The most common one is that you have no idea what to do. Other reasons might be that you feel lazy, tired or just don't want to do the things that are available for you to do. Maybe you have ideas of things but you feel you can't do the things you want to do. Boredom becomes a great concern when it results in procrastination, indecision and feeling listless and jaded. Here are some ideas on how to overcome boredom.
Steps
  1. 1
Try to figure out why you are bored:

    • Are you doing something that you have done many times before? Try adding something new or doing it a different way. If that just doesn't cut it, stop doing the same thing over and over again. Obviously, if repetitive tasks are a part of your occupation, then you may, unfortunately, have no choice but to stick it.
    • Are you feeling lazy, tired, or unmotivated? A nap can rejuvenate you and it can be surprising how much more motivated you can feel after a quick snooze. Alternatively, breathing in the fresh air outside for just ten minutes can freshen up your mindset, and the space and (maybe) sunshine can do wonders for your mood.
    • Are you rested yet still feeling lazy? Try to convince yourself to do just one small thing: something small or short in duration or just part of a task. Taking baby steps towards a goal can give you a sense of accomplishment that will beat any boredom.
    • Are you bored because you feel you can't do the things you want to do? This can be a very irritating situation to be in, because the only thing stopping you from completing a task or having some fun is the lack of materials or perhaps expertise. Try to think of alternative ways to do what you want to do, working with what you have available.
    • Are you bored because you can't think of anything to do? Do something physically or socially active. Doing some exercise can get you into a better frame of mind, as well as the added bonus of keeping you in shape. Social activity (i.e. talking to someone) fulfils one of our basic human needs. Face-to-face contact is, if possible, much better than talking over the phone or Facebook.
  2. 2
Try to do something totally new and learn from it. New situations and actions will activate your brain, allowing it to exercise its learning powers.

  3. 3
Try to be active with an interesting group of people. These can be your regular friends, or perhaps you could join a new group of people interested in similar things to you.

  4. 4
Break out of your routine. While it is important to have structure in your life, occasionally doing something radically different, or at an unusual time, can be invigorating. You need to pay attention to your thoughts and daily activities and find ways not to submit yourself to drudgery and taking things for granted.

  5. 5
Change your thoughts. Your thoughts affect your behaviour and mood. By changing your mind about the meaning of your emotion and experiences, you will generate a different attitude. Get inspired with powerful long-range goals. Powerful goals keep you inspired. You can't feel bored at the same time when you are motivated to build a life.

  6. 6
Fire up your imagination. Create mental images to stimulate your thoughts. Visualize where you want to be and what you want to become. Use your imagination to experience a situation that you want to happen in your life. The wonderful thing about imagination is that you can create anything you wish to experience.

  7. 7
Talk to other people. If the person next to you is looking as bored as you are, strike up a conversation! Or call a friend and ask if they want to come over for a natter or a game of something. If you have an interesting, thought-provoking person to talk to, the time can pass by pretty quick. You might also learn something.

  8. 8
Be active! Go for a walk or do something physically outrageous. Write down 10 things you can do and 10 you can't yet. Work through them whenever you're bored.

  9. 9
Create curiosity. Create your curiosity on what's happening around and inside you. You find life boring because of the repetition or a pattern of some habits or activities. Try to look at and do them differently and get yourself fascinated with other options and possibilities.

  10. 10
Find, read, hear, watch or do something exciting, stimulating and entertaining. You will probably be more fulfilled if you learn something: mindless media can be absorbing but ultimately not at all stimulating.

  11. 11
Find a new hobby, such as hiking, knitting, drawing, playing an instrument, Board games, Cards, Cycling, cooking or photography. If you are particularly good at one skill, you could teach others to do it, and be helping others as well as avoiding boredom.

    Try some of these ideas:

    • volunteer at your local hospital or elderly home. This can give you a great feeling of satisfaction in helping other people.
    • work for money.Ask for jobs. to do around the house for money or even start a business like mowing people's lawns or pet sitting. Pretty soon all that money will add up and you can buy something new that will keep you entertained.
    • Practice sports by yourself or with friends. You won't be bored anymore and you'll be able to show off your skills next game and feel proud of what you accomplished.
    • Take out your bike/skateboard/roller skates/scooter and get some exercise. Call up a friend and see if they want to come with you.
    • Walk to the mall and pay attention to the people there; what could they be thinking about? Who could they be talking to? What kind of people are they?
    •   something. Then you get to eat it afterwards!
    • Catch up on any homework or that you might still have to do. While this can seem like the last thing you want to do, it could be just the thing to get your brain whirring.
    • Rent some movies or listen to some music. But don't get holed up indoors. Watch a movie you haven't seen in a long time. Does it seem different now?
    • Journal your feelings and thoughts, either privately or on a blog. One of the ways to become aware of what triggers your boredom is to question yourself and take a hard look at it. Observe and write down your feelings and thoughts for a week and at the end of it, reflect on them. You could also start a blog online, if you feel that sharing your thoughts with other people could be beneficial.
    • Read and contribute to wikiHow. You might be surprised by how much you enjoy using your skills to inform other people. Or it might bore you even more: you won't know until you try!
    • Reminisce about the good summers you used to have. You can write a novel about it. Be careful not to become overly nostalgic, however.
    • Get your friends round and play something like a board game you haven't play with in a while or build something out of LEGO. If you haven't had any child-like fun for a while, here's your chance!
    • If you have something that you don't need, sell it! That way, you can use the money that you earned to buy yourself something that will entertain you.
    • Think of places you would like to visit, and why. Then, if possible, visit them and see if they live up to your expectations!

Long distance drivers, who reported little boredom, played mental games, such as counting of passing objects. They were also safer drivers. Just self awareness can set you free. A freed mind can develop new skills and hobbies. Freed from boredom, your own pattern sensing mechanisms will find joy in the beauty of the world around you.
